Gotta Get Moving

We just finished watching the first regular episode of "Chuck". It was the best one ever!! I hope you all enjoyed it! Gotta love it! What are you up to? We're pretty relaxed around here. Or maybe it's called lazy. I should go down and get on the treadmill for a little while and find something else to work on.

Thought for the day

I was reading Matthew 15 this morning. The passage was about what goes in a man doesn't defile, but what comes out does. It reminds me that any issue I come up against is, at its core, a spiritual issue, and the answer is found in Christ. Taking time to truly focus on Him until I know that I have heard from Him gives Him the opportunity to speak into every area that I am facing in my life at a given time. Whether it's my attitude, my speech, my habits, or my __________ (fill in the blank), I don't think it can be truly resolved until I bring it to Christ, see it with His eyes, and leave it at His feet.

Season Finale

Chuck was completely AWESOME tonight on the season finale!!! Can't wait for next season...it will happen! Plus "24" just gets better and better. I hope your Monday night was as fun as ours! Jon got a phone call at 7:15 and I had to put the smack down---that will not be happening again!
Talked to Megan tonight, and Greg starts a 3rd round of physical therapy tomorrow...we're praying for fresh eyes and ideas and God's healing hand. This is a different medical team, so we're expecting some better progress.

Thought for the day

I'm enjoying seeing your blessings that you shared...let's try again. Look for the small things that you can be thankful for and share them!!

Proverbs 3:3-4

"Chuck" was excellent tonight!! Not just fun, but actually suspenseful...I give it 4 stars! Oh, that's right, I'm not a critic...not for money anyway :)!
I'm still having occasional coughing fits, but I feel pretty good. I made a lot of progress catching up at work today. We got some weather moving through tonight, but for us it was just some rain, some wind, and a little lightning.
Kelli's family should have no problem with flooding from the river...the dikes should be sufficient. However, ground water flooding is still a concern, so prayers that they are able to stay dry are appreciated.

Thought for the day

This weekend Scott England quoted a Scripture I really like...Proverbs 3:3-4 "Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man." How do we bind them around our neck and write them on the tablet of our heart? It seems that we need to wrap ourselves and immerse our hearts in God's kindness and truth. When we live like that we are filled and able to practice kindness and truth toward others as well. If we try to just practice them without receiving them first, we're pouring from an empty cup. Don't try to do this out of your own reserves...they're not that deep, but God's resources are endless and He wants to pour them through you.

It's Monday Again

This may take me a little while since I'm watching "Chuck" at the same time. That's okay...I'm a girl...I can multitask, I think. I went in to work about 10:30 this morning after an all night sinus headache. So I've stayed on drugs all day today...that's right D-R-U-G-S. We'll see what kind of google ads I get now!! :) :) Hopefully tonight will be better. I need to track down a flu shot, too. Hy-Vee gives them at the pharmacy here, but only at certain times so I have to get informed. Hope all of you are getting your flu shots...it's a crazy world out there.

Time out...Jon's on his way home, have to get supper. Okay he's eating. Jon's birthday present arrived today---now we have to learn to run a new camera. Yippee!! This time he got one I can drop from 6.5' Smart man.

Thought for the day

Not bad for a Monday...maybe because I slept in and went to work late. I should try that every Monday??!! It would be quite a luxury to be able to just put off everything for 2 hours when we want. We have to face the music and dive in and do the thing before us. He is always with us to live through us, to provide all we need for all that we face, to offer Himself to us and to those around us. He never lets us face the day alone, and He is never surprised by what comes our way. We need to trust Him more and to receive all things as from His hand. That is the only way we can give thanks in everything...is to know that everything that touches us has come through His hand of love.
