Tru's Special 7th Birthday

What a wonderful weekend we had!!! Kelli and the girls arrived Thursday afternoon, Tabbi and the boys came over Thursday evening, and Jon came from Muscatine later Thursday night. We spent Friday together celebrating Tru's 7TH BIRTHDAY!!!! The kids had a great time playing together, and we took them to the pool for a couple of hours. Tabbi and the boys went home Friday evening. Much of the weekend was taken up with phone calls, emails, and lots of discussion because Jon and Kelli got an offer on their house Thursday!!!! There was a counter offer and an agreement made. YAY!!!! Then just to top it off they turned around and bought a house in Muscatine on Saturday!! DOUBLE YAY!!!!! We're praying for smooth sale processes and are SO happy for them!!!! And for us!!!! As of now Kelli and the girls are safely back at home and getting ready for a move! AND Jon got a lot of work done around here...the west wall of the garage is drywalled and taped. Tonight he primered the bathroom and he's basically like Superman! All that said, I'll get back to where I started...."HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TRU!!!"

Back to Normal

Life returns to normal. Jon is home in the evenings again after working a full week of at least 16 hour days during and after the ice storm. He falls asleep really fast in his recliner, but he needs to catch up on some sleep. Even better news, we've gone 48 hours without a trip to the ER!!!

I hope you have weathered the weather well. Today we had sunshine with our cold temps, and that was nice, too. We plan on visiting Greg and Megan on Sunday to celebrate her birthday a little late. I hope Jon's rested up by then. We are also going out to eat for Mom's birthday this weekend and hopefully can get her in and out okay. It's quite a challenge to navigate with her when conditions are less than perfect.

There was a comment today on my Blurb listing for my book from a man in New Zealand! Weird. You know the internet is all over the world, but it still surprised me. We're watching "Superman Returns" tonight. Didn't realize we'd never seen this one...pretty fun.

Superman?

Jon worked late tonight grinding dyes after spending all day cutting trees...plus it was 85 degrees this afternoon. Not surprisingly, he's ready to be done. I don't know how he does it...I'm usually tired after sitting at a desk all day then doing a few chores around home. I must be a weenie. OR maybe he's actually Superman...that's it!!! This explains a lot!!!
Tonight we are trying a different TV program..."Eureka". Kelli says we'll like it, and she's pretty smart! I'll let you know how we like it later :)

Thought for the day

I think I'm too tired for a thought....you know, all that sitting at a desk and a couple of chores :)
