The Need to be Thankful

We are planning on traveling to Jennifer's funeral next week. My feelings are a mixture of sadness and excitement. It will be so good to see everyone, but such a sad time. Tabbi is planning on riding with us...almost like old times. I'm sure we'll need to be aware of all the possible pit stops along the way :)

Thought for the day

We have so many friends who are going through such hard things right now...Dan's family, Marcus and Crissy, Erika, and all the Lukes. All we can do for them is pray. It reminds me that I have SO MUCH to be thankful for. And so do you. There is a quote in one of my devotionals that I like..."If your cup is sweet, drink it with grace." Don't look for trouble; don't worry about what if; don't flaunt your blessings. Receive what the Lord gives you thankfully, humbly, and with a hand that holds all things loosely. All we have is His; it is simply put into our hands for a little while to be used for His glory. It is His to do with as He sees best. Lord, have Your way, do Your will, and rule and reign in all things.

Vinegar and Honey

We had a very dreary day going until late afternoon. By the time I got off work it was upper 60's? and great for a walk, which I did. Then I did laundry, made supper, etc, etc, etc. We have no big plans for the weekend; how about you? We have some things outside we need to get to work on...hopefully it will be a good time to do that.
Okay, so here's the weird thing...someone gave me a suggestion for our joints. I have tendonitis in my shoulder, sore knees, and stiff hips. Jon is sore in the shoulders, elbow, and ankle. We are now taking one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of honey every day. We were told to drink it in a cup of hot water, but I tried that and while it's doable, no thanks. Jon tried it in a cup of my homemade spiced tea, and that we can do. We started over the weekend, and asked each other tonight whether we could tell a difference. Amazingly, we both are starting to have less pain! I'm not sure I can believe it yet, but glad to share all the details. You need to use a particular cider, and I can share the recipe for the spiced tea. Pretty weird, I admit!

Thought for the day

The sun today was a WELCOME friend. I guess that would be one of my blessings to be thankful for today. Another one would be safe travel for all of our family to and from work, shopping, while at work, wherever they've been. Of course I'm thankful for perhaps less pain for both Jon and I. How's it going out there, people?

Change Your Clocks!!

Megan has furniture!! She was really glad to see their things again...she hasn't "lived" with her stuff for 7 months. Now she has a little time to sort and put away before Greg comes. Greg's parents came to help with setup, and we were all very thankful for two young men with the truck to carry all that stuff up to the third floor!! Even they were huffing and puffing when they got to the top of the steps. Hope you're all having a great weekend. Tomorrow we help with the greeting at church and the rest of the day is ours...probably mending for me. Jon will unload the stuff we brought back from Megan's today and take the truck and trailer back.
Thanks again to all of you for your prayers for the house sale, safe travel, Greg's healing and able to go back to work. We're almost through the process...just get Greg here, find work, and eventually a house. Thanks for your continued prayer through to the end. Is there ever an end? :)

Thought for the day

I'm tired but very thankful for God's provision for all of us. Have a good weekend and I'll "see" you soon!!
AND DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS TONIGHT!!!!!
