Jon is taking some extra days off over this Memorial Day weekend, and I'm taking off Tuesday as well. So far this weekend I worked on Saturday morning, we worked at my mom's house Saturday afternoon, and we kept Tre and Tru overnight Saturday night. Tabbi came over today for church then they all went home later this afternoon. I've done some cleaning, laundry, and saw my mom for a little while. Tomorrow we'll take off as soon as Jon as willing to go to see Greg, Megan, and Oz for a while then head over to see Jon, Kelli, Bria, and Emmy overnight. We'll spend Tuesday there so we can go to Bria's softball game in the afternoon and head home that night. Busy, busy, busy!!! Jon's working away in the garage tonight.
Thought for the day
I'm still wrestling with health and wholeness issues. My acid reflux is gone entirely, and I'm doing just fine without any Singulair. I need some blood work anyway, so I'll get my blood pressure and thyroid checked as well. However, I'm still not sure how I'm going to get along without an nsaid. One day well, next day not, next day in between. Lord, teach me. Help my unbelief. I trust You.

Wild Summer
It seems like our summer has become kind of a whirlwind. We don't travel much, but in June we went to both Grand Forks and Keyport. It has been a little crazy with trying to finish up the decision process on whether we are building a garage now or not. We're waiting for our last bid to be completed...the estimate looked a little more promising. We still don't know if we're moving ahead with that project or not.
Next Saturday we will be helping Greg and Megan with some moving, and the following Saturday we will be helping move my mom into her new "apartment". In addition, there will be a reunion and Megan's first baby shower still in July. Jon may still be helping with Trever with a his roofing job at some point, and needs to get more work done on a cradle.
On Sunday Tabbi and I took Tre and Tru to the zoo for a few hours. We had a good time, and Tre still wants to be a zoo-keeper when he grows up.

I'm still reading the E.M. Bounds book on prayer, and it really is an encouragement to pray and keep praying. A quote...
"A ministry may be a very thoughtful ministry without prayer, the preacher may secure fame and popularity without prayer, the whole machinery of the preacher's life and work may be run without the oil of prayer or with scarcely enough to grease one cog; but no ministry can be a spiritual one, securing holiness in the preacher and in his people without prayer being made an evident and controlling force."

Back in Iowa!!
It's 2:00 and I just talked to Megan...she and Greg just crossed into Iowa!! They will be at his parents in about an hour and stay the night there. Thanks again, Jesus, for another safe trip! They had some rain along the way and just a few flurries...otherwise clear sailing!
In other good news, the Red River crest projection has been lowered for Grand Forks. That's good news for now, but there is still a lot of snow and water to get rid of!
We've had a quiet day home. I did some cleaning and laundry and got caught up on some other odds and ends. I put a roast in the crock pot for supper and I'm baking an angel food cake to go with the strawberries I got at the store.
It's pretty nice out today, but cold is forecasted for the rest of the week. We went to a very nice wedding in Des Moines yesterday and had a great time. The pastor knew both the bride and groom really well, and the ceremony was very nice and personal. The important thing is everybody said "I do"!
Thought for the day
We saw a friend at the store today who we haven't seen in a long time, and the conversation made me realize how blessed I am. In the last year and a half she's had 2 major health issues and is facing an upcoming surgery as well. Two of her three children have moved far away...one is estranged from her completely right now. She and her husband have split up. Yet she chooses to see God's hand and is waiting for "all the pieces to finish coming together". Lord, help us each to believe in the midst of any circumstance that You are at work and will bring us through to a good end.
